Hey Tula (“Tula”, “we”, “us”) is an AI wellness app with two companions — The Kitchen (nutrition) and The Pulse (emotional wellbeing). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have. We sell nothing and we show no third party your personal data for their own marketing.
Who we are

What we collect
- Account: your email or username, and (optionally) your name.
- Health & wellness information you provide: quiz answers, goals, meals and food photos, water and sleep logs, mood check-ins, and the content of your chats with The Kitchen and The Pulse.
- Health Connect data (optional, Android): if you connect Health Connect, we read your steps, sleep, heart rate, exercise, distance, and active-calorie data.
- App activity: features used and credit transactions, to run the service.
- Payments: credit-pack purchases are processed by Cashfree. We receive a payment confirmation; we do not store your card details.
How we use it
- To provide the app and personalise your guidance (e.g. tailoring meals and support to your goals, conditions, and activity).
- To maintain one shared memory across both companions so you don’t repeat yourself.
- To operate accounts, credits, streaks, and notifications.
We use AI providers (such as Groq, OpenAI, or Google) to generate responses. Your message content is sent to them solely to produce your reply; it is not used by us to advertise to you, and we do not sell it.
Health Connect
If you grant access, Tula reads the health data listed above only to personalise your own plan inside the app. We do not share Health Connect data with any third party, do not use it for advertising, and do not transfer it to anyone. You can revoke access any time in Health Connect, or disconnect inside Tula. Data is synced at most once a day unless you manually re-sync. Tula’s use of Health Connect data follows the Google Play Health Connect permission and data-handling requirements.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers that make the app work — hosting (Vercel), database/auth (Supabase), AI inference, payments (Cashfree), and email (Resend) — under their terms, and only as needed to run the service. We do not sell personal data and do not share it for third-party advertising.
Security & retention
Data is encrypted in transit. We keep your data while your account is active and delete it on request. Health-adjacent data (mood, logs, chats) is treated as sensitive and handled with care.
Your choices
- Delete your account and data any time at Account → Delete account.
- Disconnect Health Connect or revoke individual permissions whenever you like.
- Email hello@heytula.com for any data request.
Children
Hey Tula is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children.
Not medical or psychiatric care
Tula provides wellness guidance, not medical or psychiatric care. It does not diagnose or prescribe. For medical or mental-health concerns, please consult a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, The Pulse always shows India helplines free of charge.
